Bolivia

Though Mom and I haven't actually been able to go to Bolivia, we felt a little bit like we had since Ralph and Diana came to Mom's church today and showed a video and told the congregation there about the trip he and 8 other people from the Presbytery took this summer and their experiences.

The people of Bolivia are beautiful people. Full of hope. Love color. I believe Ralph said they are the poorest country in South America and and the next to the poorest in the world.

Due to mining, the water in the area they visited is totally toxic. Crops won't grow anymore. They drink the water, which is sad.

Wish you could have heard Ralph's presentation. Despite all, the people are upbeat.

Yesterday (Saturday) we attended Thisbe's 3rd birthday party. Crowded with kids and parents, Elizabeth's parents and sister, F & P, Claire, GG and me. We mostly sat and watched but that is a joy in itself. Children interacting are so interesting to watch.

We had Stake Conference this weekend so Friday was all day Temple Day, last night was the Adult Session. Powerful talks. (Too bad my memory is poor and I didn't bring a notebook.)

Had to miss today's session to attend Ralph's presentation.
